2 Questions regarding the Altec coaxial 604

The 604 woofer is based on the Altec 416 or 515?

Was the tweeter horn assembly from 604 ever offered as a standalone tweeter? The tweeter section of Altec 12"(414-based) 601 was offered as a 3000T.

I'm not 100% positive but I think it is the 416 and the second is a 806 or 802 as the HF

The 604-8Ks I have are much closer to a 515 than 416. Don't know if this varied over the years and models. The compression driver I dunno.

Yeah, I know the tweeter section of the 604 was based on the Altec small format compression driver, but I was wondering was the tweeter section of a 604 ever offered as a standalone tweeter, like the 12" 601 and the 3000T tweeter.

604-8G and the 604-8H are closer to the 416 I'm almost certain.These were Alnico were the K's are ferrite. And I think the HF is handled by a 806 equivalent.Yes it was offered as a 806 compression driver.

According to the 604e spec sheet, the mags are much closer to the 515.

604H is same as 515b at 4.4 pounds

The 604 mag is the 802, I believe the 605 is the 806.
